Pinback: Autumn of the Seraphs

This record has been in constant rotation since I bought it at an amazing record store in Doylestown PA (Siren Records, check it out). Ive been a long time fan of pinback and even had the liberty of catching Rob Crow on one of his solo tours. Rob Crow has more or less had at least a lyrics on half a dozen of my personal favorite records (including Drive Like Jehus' "Yank Crime" oddly enough).

The album has an overall steady and consistent vibe that alot of modern bands just dont manage to do anymore. The entire album has a certian steadiness to it (rhythmically and lyrically) thats unrivaled. Very melodic, yet dissonant at times, the vocal melodies are on par and on key with the greats.

Id give it an 9/10 losing a point just because at times the album gets a little boring and repetitive but overall its a very intelligent and relaxed record.

Definantly check it out. You can here 2 songs here.
